What is a personalized weight management plan ?

Wellness Through Balance seeks to help a person establish both health and weight management goals. We feel that weight issues are usually just another symptom of an underlying root health problem. Our goal is to ascertain that problem and address that problem through the healthy eating habits plan. Many people find that their chronic health problems will be reduced - and just plain

What are the key components of a personalized weight management plan?

No matter which approach is correct for any one individual, there are certain basic key components that must be part of any lifestyle change program for better health. There are five of these key components and they include:

  • Lifestyle
  • Exercise
  • Attitudes
  • Relationships
  • Nutrition

Remember, not everyone has the same health risks or weight goals, so any one strategy is not right for everyone!!! Always remember, once healthy eating patterns are set, that everything can be eaten in moderation!

What can you expect from your personalized weight management visits?

First visit:

Nutritional and Health Assessment
Establishment of Health and Weight Goals
Your Unique Approach to Weight Management discussed
Plan recommendation that best fits your needs (It will always include recommending nutrition, stress reduction and physical activities that can work within your lifestyle)

Second visit:
Assessment of food journal and Stress reduction plan and Activities Plan
Identification of your particular challenges
Preparing to change

Third visit (after week 1 and 2 on the plan):
Assessment of progress
Strategies for overcoming obstacles that have come up

Fourth visit (after week 3):
Assessment of progress
Discussion of plateaus and what is happening inside your body, even if nothing is changing on the outside

Fifth visit (after weeks 4 and 5):
Assessment of progress
Discussion of any "healing reactions" and progress in health issues

Sixth visit (after week 6):
Let's see how far you have come!!!
Which health/weight issues have decreased and how can progress be maintained.

Discussion of the continuation of healthy lifestyle habits that have been learned
